At Conference 2017, we launched the Bonington Bear Initiative.
The idea behind this is to generate as much social media content and “traffic” as possible around Bonington Bear who will visit centres and events all around the Country with the end purpose of promoting the “Campsite Directory”
What do I do?
When you get Bonington, take a picture of him somewhere on your site or at your event and the post that picture on the CampSite Directory Facebook page AND your own camp site page. Within the post, make sure you link to your site & campsite directory and use the hashtags #boningtonbear and #CampsiteDirectory
Then, encourage your colleagues to “like” that post to maximise how many people see your post. This will help publicise both your site and the directory
When can I do this?
Any time you wish but to make things easy, why not take several photos at once before sending Bonington on his way. You can then release the pictures over a longer period
How do I get Bonington to visit us?
The easiest way could be to watch the Campsite Directory Facebook page and watch where he is. Then, contact the site direct and see if you can collect or have him posted to you.
Who pays the postage?
The ASGC will provide stamps to pay for Bonington to be posted to his next venue although we encourage sites to take Bonington for a ride and whilst you deliver him, you might as well have a good look around his new site and maybe pick up some new ideas?
