28/10/2011 Campsite is very clean and camp toilets / showers are well maintained. We stayed in the Cabin 1 and 2 these are in urgent need of rennovation / upgrade.   Lots of work done on the site since the handover including a nice referb for the office/shop.   Staff are really nice and helpfull. Will return again!

I think Great Tower was a very fun and enjoyable experience for myself and my fellow scouts. I had a lot of fun mountain biking shooting and the tuck shop is very well stocked. I am a Assistant Patrol Leader at my troop 1st Carleton and i really enjoyed it and i really would like to come here again and the staff support was impeccable.

Overall we had an excellent week. We were particularly impressed with the high ropes activities and the excellent, friendly instruction we received on that. Staff were very helpful.

I have camping at Gt Tower since the early eighties, and I have never been disappointed with the reception on arrival, the standard of activities & the site itself. in my humble opinion is one of the best in the country.  No matter what the weather has thrown at us, we have always kept smiling.

The camp site is in an excellent position to explore South lake District. It provided a base while we had groups out doing Expeditions at all levels. We had a very wet but enjoyable week.

Excellently placed in the Lakes. The site we chose did prove a bit trick to locate and it is full of lumps and bumps; however, the staff were possibly the best crew I've ever come across, putting together our gas burner and loaning us an adaptor for it, providing daily met office updates and putting on a tremendous fireworks display! top stuff guys.

I have used GT many times as I know that the Scouts will (1)Have a great time (2)be treated as Scouts/Young People as long as they treat others with respect, and (3)will be assured of fun activities carried out safely.
The site manager, Bill, and his team do everything to ensure that the above are met consistently

When we arrive we were shown the site we had got and were made to feel really welcome. Everyone had time for us. The site itself is superb, always has been. There is plenty of space to let the kids build Bivi's, loads on on site activities and the facilities are great [hot showers!]
All of the instructors on site and down at Moor Crag for the water activities had time for the Scouts, encouraging them if they weren't sure and praising them when they completed the activity.
There was only one problem, we had to leave and come home, but we will return!
many thanks to Bill and the Team, you are all brilliant!

Centre Staff very helpful at all times, great with the children.
The Windermere Lodge, was a nice size building for the amount of cubs that we had sleeping in there, but the kitchen was not practical, it was two small and there was no modern appliances e.g. Microwave and extractor fan for the cooker.
