Description of Site: Foxlease is set in 65 acres of beautiful land near Lyndhurst in Hampshire. The centre is in the heart of the New Forest with easy access via road, rail and air from Southampton airport. The estate was given to Girlguiding UK on 28 February 1922 by Mrs Anne Archbold on the occasion of the marriage of its then President, Princess Mary, The Princess Royal. Since then, thousands of Guides and young people from all corners of the world have visited the centre and had a chance to enjoy the wonderful facilities it has to offer. Foxlease has been owned by Girlguiding UK for 87 years and in 2010 Guiding will be 100 years old. Come and celebrate the Centenary with us! Tented Village available from May 2012 |
